Local Income Taxes
Employers with work sites located in Pennsylvania are required to withhold and remit the local Earned Income Tax (EIT) and Local Services Tax (LST) on behalf of their employees working in Pennsylvania. Examples of business work sites include, but are not limited to: factories, warehouses, branches, offices and residences of home-based employees.
Visit the PA Department of Community & Economic Development website for more information regarding both taxes:
Local Services Tax
The Local Services Tax adopted by Concord Township (Ordinance No. 298) is a rate of $52.00 annually, ($1.00 per week) for those who are employed within the boundaries of Concord Township, with a low income exemption of $12,000.00. Concord Township has appointed Berkheimer Tax Administrators to collect Local Services Tax (LST) for the Township. Please contact Berkheimer Tax Administrators directly to setup an account and receive a packet of LST information.
Contact Berkheimer at 610-599-3139, or visit their website at http://www.hab-inc.com.
For exemption: there is an Exemption Certificate to be completed, returned to employer and copied to Berkheimer, should this be the case. Forms available at http://www.hab-inc.com
Earned Income Tax
Concord Township has not adopted the Earned Income Tax to date. Earned Income Tax requires Employees’ Residency Forms to be completed by each employee and returned to their employer, with the PSD code #230303 for those residing in Concord Township. This code will initiate a 0% withholding.
Should the employee be employed within Concord Township, residing outside of Concord Township, the employee should contact their municipality to obtain their residence’s PSD Code, or consult the Act 32 PSD Code list via the PA Department of Community and Economic Development website.
